We established Snoozer in Greenville, SC in 1985 and today it is still family owned and operated, and the majority of our products are sewn and assembled by hand here in the USA. We consider how dogs behave; we watch how they age. And we manufacture stylish, long-lasting dog beds, car seats, carriers, and other pet products that both you and your pet will love. Shop Snoozer Favorites! What Makes a Snoozer Different? Quality and durability are sewn into every detail. You can see it in the made-to-order fabric. You can feel it in the superior cushioning. You can even smell it in the cedar shavings of our poly fill. Tell Me More! For us, details matter. Overlocked stitching hides durable zippers. That’s because our liners are made to be washer-friendly, just like our covers. How's Your Track Record? Snoozer was established in 1985 with the intention of manufacturing the finest dog beds, car seats, sofas, and travel accessories. These values remain instilled in the company today. Get Your Pet a Snoozer! How are you caring for my pet? At Snoozer, we have chosen not to treat our products’ structural foam with any chemicals. This is in consideration of any potentially negative effects such treatments may have on a pet. Because our foam is untreated, it will develop a honey golden hue over time. This color enrichment process is natural, and not indicative of prior use. How are you caring for the planet? In a conscious effort to reduce the use of non-essential plastics, we have also chosen to forego fully wrapping individual products in favor of using quality, recyclable cardboard packaging. This is a top quality product. This was a Large. It actually fit nicely but at 8 inches made it too high. This was to be used on top of a personal size trampoline that my autistic three year old great grandson uses. He could lay on top of it and watch tv or use his tablet or remove it to use the trampoline. The sherpa lined pocket is very nice and he fit inside nicely to keep warm in the winter. It would be great for animals or small children. Our rat terrier is getting on in years and suffers quite a bit from the cold--for a long time he was fine as long as we put on a doggy sweater or vest for going outdoors, and he definitely needed a blanket to cover him at night even though his bed was located in the warmest spot in the house...if anyone forgot to tuck him in or didn't get around to it fast enough he would stand and glare at the offending party until the matter was settled!I saw these last winter and thought one of them would be great for him, but we hesitated because of the cost, and also because I wasn't sure how well he would take to a new bed (he is a bit of a stubborn old cuss) and I wondered how durable it would turn out to be--so ended up not doing anything until this year. As a short-haired dog, he has always been sensitive to the cold, but this year has been worse; his coat has gotten thinner and he has been quite miserable, shivering more than usual and even while wearing a thick and heavy wool Chilly Dog sweater, so we decided to go ahead and take a chance on this bed. I ran across this model (the luxury has the microsuede fabric vs the basic cotton blend on the regular version) at a great price. I read many of the reviews to help determine which size to get and ended up ordering the large size bed...it arrived yesterday and looks much nicer than I expected (I have to admit I was a bit concerned about ordering this sight unseen simply because we have purchased so many dog beds that turned out to be cheaply made or would fall apart in no time) but this one seems to be very well constructed. It is nice and thick and I like that the cushion can be removed so the covering can be washed. The fleecy part seems warm and cozy. At first, he didn't realize he was supposed to get inside of the bed and he insisted on laying on top of it. Even when we held it open and tried to encourage him to enter, he wasn't having it. I read some of the reviews of people with similar problems and was worried that I had wasted a lot of money on something that wasn't going to get used. Finally, my husband just gathered him up and deposited him inside--he was disgruntled, but then it took him about 3 seconds to decide he really liked it in there! The next time, he wanted to get in by himself, but he was a still a bit reluctant and someone needed to hold the cover up--the inner support doesn't hold it open as far as it appears in the picture (it looks a bit like a slightly collapsed tent--hard to tell how generous the opening really is) but he got used to it after a couple of tries and now he is in and out whenever he wants. Outside of the opening, the bed looks exactly as pictured--the cushion is really thick and soft (he just kind of burrows into it) and the fleece is is also soft and very plush. This is a great dog bed and he is absolutely reveling in it...one of our other dogs is a bit jealous, and she wants to get in, too, but so far he has been resistant to inviting guests to share his new bed. He is a fairly small dog and only weighs about 15 or 16 pounds so there is more than enough room for him. There is space for the other dog, too but it would probably be a pretty tight fit for the two of them (she is about twice as big--perhaps 35 or 40 pounds, and I think this large size bed would be perfect for a dog of her size). Initially I thought the small model might be best, but the large was on sale for only two dollars more, so that's the one I bought, and it was the right choice. We have yet another dog--an Akita, pretty good sized--maybe 80-85 pounds or so and he would not even come lose to being able to comfortably fit in this bed (in case this information helps anyone else choose a size). Luckily for my budget, the other dogs are content with their current dog beds + they have plenty of fur to help keep them warm!I have to say, I am quite impressed with the effects of this bed. We have 3 dogs total, 2 chihuahuas, one brussels griffon(well, I had one well behaved dog, but then I decided to let the gf move in after an extended period of time and ended up with 2 more dogs). One of them lives in a cage whom I could care less about, as she is spawned from the evil lord satan himself. The brussels griffon and other chihuahua are pretty content with sitting next to us on the couch though on a typical day.The chihuahua LOVES to burrow into anything it can find though. Whether it be towels, comforters, sheets, clothes. He also is very high energy. He leaps from one of my expensive leather couches to the other expensive leather couch with no regard. When I saw this bed on Amazon, I knew that this dog would love it. So I purchased a large bed (I wanted all 3 dogs to fit in there if need be).Day 1:Opened up the box, pulled out the bed. I was very impressed with the quality of the bed. It was actually better built than I was expecting. In fact, I kinda just bought this on a drunken Christmas Amazon shopping spree. Usually I am very nit picky about features and quality, alas, my concerns were quelled quickly. One thing I noticed was that the opening is actually supported by a rather firm piece of metal. I would say it was akin to how a camping tent rod feels and acts. It kind of props the entrance open. This is actually a pretty nice feature, because I can get a glimpse into the bed and see which dog is in there and refusing to respond to me.So, here comes the doggy test. I drop the satan dog in the pouch, she just runs out screaming and hissing back to her cage with her tail stuck between her legs like she just got caught between a Rihanna and Chris Brown altercation. No surprise there. Whatever, I hate that dog. So off to doggie #2, the brussels. Now, she actually enjoyed the bed a bit when I dropped her in, but she was VERY skeptical about what this new, warm, fuzzy contraption was. So she jumped off and went about her normal daily business only to end up back on the couch with me (which I don't mind because she never moves). Now, for the 3rd dog....well, let me tell you. I dumped his unsuspecting butt into the bed, and I swear I dumped him into a black hole. I didn't see the dog come out for the rest of the day.Day 2-3On the second day, I left for work before the dogs were fed, and got home after they were fed. I felt like I didn't even own but 1 dog again. I hadn't even seen dog #3 for 3 days. He just slept in the bed.2 WeeksWell, a couple weeks later and dog #3 has found a new place to pass away. I don't think he is coming out of there. I have never seen a dog so content. The other 2 dogs aren't afraid anymore, and they like to sleep on it as well. Although the brussels just likes to lay on top of it, while the chihuahua's like to cozy up inside. It fits all 3 dogs nicely though! I have to say, it is an excellent product. Conclusion:This is a high quality product, that will last a long time and provide your burrowing buddy a sanctuary within the sanctuary. Do your pet a favor, and splurge a little on them. They will LOVE you for it. And for me, it was a great way to save my couch.EDIT (8/1/2016):I wanted to provide an update on this particular product. It's been almost 4 years since I originally purchased my Cozy Cave for the dogs. It has seen consistent daily use between multiple animals. The dogs decided, on their own mind you, that this was where they wanted to keep all their toys too. It's been buried into, laid on, and horsed around in daily. It has truly been put through the paces of time, use, and doggy abuse. Let me just say, this thing has performed rock solid. Devil horns be damned, this thing chews up and spits out even the most crazy Chihuahua incidents without even noticing. The quality, the stitching, the zippers, the tent pole all remain just as in tact as the day it was bequeathed upon us by the doggy gods. The only thing that ever was in need of attention was the stuffing. Considering how highly used it is, it would be unreasonable to expect the stuffing to stay as "cloud like" as the day it rained down from heaven. Not an issue though, as re-stuffing it was a breeze. However, be very careful removing this from the doggy territory for washing/restuffing. I'm pretty sure my brussels thinks I'm taking it away forever every time I wash it, because she angry poops where the missing bed is without fail. Every. Single. Time. So aside from having to restuff it every few years, and the angry poops from washing it, it's served it purpose 10 fold. If this one ever bites the dust, you can sure bet I'm in for another one. Heck, at this point in time, I'm half tempted to get one for myself! But i'm sure the dogs would just kick me out of it and claim it as their own. After the 1st cpl of hours she has learned to get in and out and has already fallen asleep! Love this!I have a large whippet who likes to pull up every blanket on any sofa to get in underneath. He doesn't like to be cold when he sleeps! I ordered the XL thinking he likes to stretch out. This was far too big. They kindly arranged delivery and collection of the L in exchange of the XL. Communication has been easy. Whippet is now loving his new bed after a little training. The only negative is that the sherpa fleece moults as it is new. So I would shake and vacuum before use to stop it going in the dogs eyes. Overall. Would have another and well made.Bought the XL size for our large wire haired vizsla who feels the cold at night and likes to be covered when he sleeps. I wish I’d got him one sooner because he’s slept through the night ever since, for the first time in four years! He gets up for a stretch and then gets straight back into his cave. Had to then order a second one for our other viszla who was jealous. Quality is excellent. Already washed the cover after spilling milk on it, and it has come out like new. Only downside is the XL is pretty heavy so stays in one place as it’s hard to move up/down stairs, and takes up a lot of space, but worth it. Very happy dogs and owner! With a bow top entrance to the bed cave, my Sprocker Spaniel soon discovered he could Bury himself in a cosy warmth. At first he layed in the entrance, and after a few games of find the toy or treat, he soon had the cave scene licked. This particular bed, although not on the cheap side,is worth the expense as my Sprocker loves it.Well Rhonda loves it and she is pretty fussy. She's half Doberman and half Labrador, not huge but a good size. She had a sniff, poked around, and then got in and chilled out. Seems really comfy and well made. Not overly big (intrusive), but will fit a large dog. I'd sleep in one but can't convince my girlfriend, or find one big enough). It's a well made product and your furry mate will love it.My dogs love it so fluffy and warm they love the top on it. Large enough for two Yorkshire terriers
