We have had the playpen for about a week and a half and we really like it- except for the two sharp metal prongs on the gate that snap under the latch to keep it closed. We leave the gate open so the dogs can jump back and forth to get water and toys and so they feel comfortable when we are home in the the playpen with it open so they aren’t scared when we close the gate with the dogs inside. With the gate open, the prongs are little cylindrical razor blades just waiting to rid eyeball materials.Until the company can send us a solution to fix this problem we are going to wrap the prongs with duct tape and keep at least half an eye on the dogs to make sure they aren’t trying to eat the duct tape. The build quality of the playpen is pretty good, (considering they did a pretty good job keeping the weight down for more economical and environmentally-friendly shipping), and I don’t see it scratching the tile in the kitchen, but I might be hesitant to put the playpen on our wood floors as our puppy might move the playpen and scratch the floor. Also, the bottom corner of the gate on the side that has the prongs is very sharp and has a bit of extra spots of metal that didn’t get sanded off before painting and I have already scraped my leg on it once when cleaning up @$!#s. The bottom corner is open and just needs a decent cap that would NEVER come off. It’s a shame they didn’t weld a square piece on and safely close it off and smooth down the edges so I don’t have to explain this scar to every old lady we see at the bowling alley. Also, the little plastic mufflers come in the panel connector tubes connected to the panels so you don’t need to buy them extra-style like it says in the description, so we are returning those and saving ten Andrew Jacksons. For the price of the overall panels though you shouldn’t have to buy the additional indoor rubber floor protectors that go on the points of the stakes that hold the panels together.I understand that they don’t want to include these for people never planning to use it indoors- don’t we agree that it should be up to the consumer to use them or not, but, we the MIGHTY people should have the option if we change our minds or we can repurpose them for our wife’s killing toenails. What if there is another alien invasion and they want to abduct you and they say you can take your dog but you have to take the playpen because they aren’t going to have a scroungy mongrel running a muck in their ship. BUUUT, they say, “No way fellow, the pointy stakes would scratch our interstellar vehicle!.” So they take you and leave your best friend behind all because the dog playpen company could not throw in less than a dozen rubber floor protectors that probably cost them twenty-four cents to make. Now you die of depression because you don’t have your therapy dog and the aliens bring you back from the dead and now you have to eat brains and you are allergic to brains so you die again.Maybe we can swim on over to the Home Dah- Pot to find a solution faster to make the prongs safe so our deluxe doggies don’t end up as pirates for Halloween!Would we buy the playpen again and recommend to friends who have enough dogs to start a revolution? Yes, as long as they provide a free solution to make the gate prongs safe and the bottom gate corner scratchy hole as well. Also, maybe they could program our puppy to stop $&@!ing everywhere!!Thanks for your time and we look forward to dinner tomorrow night because we enjoy food like most humans.I am SO grateful I found this! I just moved into an apartment without a fenced yard and getting them out has been such an annoying task. I havea 60lb lab and a tiny 4lb dog, who has to go out a lot. Getting the little one's harness and leash on and having them both want to go 2 different ways to go potty and getting wrapped up in their leashes.. nightmare. Since a permanent fence is not an option, I was trying to figure out what to do.Someone mentioned getting a dog playpen just to have at least a small area to let them go, so I started searching on Amazon. After searching and reading so many reviews.. I decided to get this one. I chose the 32 inch height. 24" seemed too short and I didn't need any taller than 32 inch. After measuring and really thinking about it.. I decided instead of making a small area just in the grass I would enclose the whole patio and grass area. This way I don't have to worry about getting them safely to the area from the back door, and can instead ditch the leashes all together and just open the back door. Now they can also hang out with me on the patio and it is SO MUCH BETTER! I also was so glad the wire gaps are close enough together that my tiny 4lb dog can not fit through.I set this up myself in like 10 minutes. All I used was a mallet for the stakes. It was a cinch and it looks so sharp! It is straight and a nice matte black.Every neighbor and friend has asked me where I got it. It looks so nice!I needed the 8 panel set with the gate and ended up needing 6 more panels to completely enclose the whole area. I like how this one gives you so many options of adding on more sets in lots of options. Many of the other brands don't. The full 8 panel set came with a set of gloves and all sets came with extra stakes. For me this is a dream solution.I will say though.. first, I don't leave them out alone and my dogs are not actively trying to escape. My little dog would totally take off running if he saw something to chase so the fence is perfect for hindering him from doing so.. but neither of my dogs dig and they aren't jumping on the fence or trying to get out. I don't know how this would do with more "excitable" bigger dogs. It stays in place but we aren't pushing on it, etc. For small and mellow dogs this is definitely on point. My only concern is how it will hold up through winter weather, as far as lots of rain and some snow. I live where it rains a lot. So really hopeful it doesn't rust. If it starts to I will use some rustoleum paint. I was too excited to put it up to take any preventative measures. For my needs this was perfect & a huge relief to find. I love it so much!Very easy to install, looks great, and versatile! I recently added 2 puppies to my household and these fences have been a godsend. There are several sightly aggressive dogs on one side of my chain link fence and I used several boxes of this fencing to add a little distance between the yards. Yes, part of my yard is not fully accessible, but, these fences are so easy to move, that I will be able to move them closer to the chain link fence if the dogs ever decide on tolerating each other. I will probably always have the extra barrier as added protection. Plus, there are 2 gates per set! So, I am able to access the fenced off part of the yard anytime I want. I also use the fences inside my house. The puppies still have occasional accidents and I am using the fencing to keep them in a central place until they are completely trained. Again, I can move these with ease, give them more play space, or less, as necessary. It also allows the grandkids to have their own play zones without worrying about the pups eating their crayons or taking their toys. And, there are the gates so no one is stuck. I tried conventional baby gates in sereral doorways and the grandkids weren't able to get through easily. I also bought the tips, sold separately, to use on the inside poles to protect the floors but they are not essential. Oh, and I did have to contact customer service and they were wonderful!
