I looked so hard for a small bite senior food that would be a better alter To a grocery store brand. My vet recommended this and it’s been perfect for my dog. He’s 12 years old with no signs of slowing down!I have been buying Lotus for years and no complaints.As my beagles are aging, they are having a more difficult time digesting their dry food. Part of the problem is chewing issues with teeth loss. This food was recommended by a local pet food store. I gave it a try. It took a while for the dogs to transition to this food. But, they have and they love it. The small bites are great.We have been using this for now we are on our second generation of seniors to have passed and two are still with us .We mix this with their dry food and a little low-sodium chicken broth to soften it up for the toothless Chihuahuas and they gobble it up.My 10-year old medium size dog loves eating this dog food. I am super excited to see it here on Amazon at a lower price than my local pet food store. My dog eats this daily as a morning meal, dry. It's easy for his to chew with his older (and sometimes missing) teeth. He does not have allergies with this brand of dry food, something we have noticed with other brands. One side effect is the constipation of dry food, so we keep lots of water in his dish and feed him a wet dog food in the evening.My small senior dogs love this Lotus chicken senior small bites. One of my shih tzu dogs has early kidney disease and would not eat prescription diets or much of any other great dog foods. I purchased this as it is lower in protein and other items and all around baked process fit the bill. She gobbles the food up, loves it and in two months her kidney test improved. My other little senior dog loves it too.My dogs seem to enjoy Lotus as part of their diet. I mix it with a little wet, and some veggies.Our vet had recommended the food but out dog didn't eat it.Flynn is a 16 year old border collie and is getting very particularin her diet preferences.
